This Good Day

One of the songs I like to play each morning is This Good Day by Fernando Ortega. The song reminds me that each day is a gift of God and to appreciate and enjoy it. I needed that this morning as I left for a long walk-hike, the longest of my Camino journey. I was up at 6 and out the door at 7am. Today I walked for 7 1/2 hours over 34km (21 miles). I ascended over 2,200 feet and by the end of the walk had come back down. (Vega de Valcarce-2,163ft; Alto do Pipo-4,388ft; Triacastela-2,157ft). Along the way I met two men over 80 years old making the walk; one from Australia and other from England with his daughter. (Kellye, Marisa, James are you up for this in 15 years?). They were all such a delight. The weather was perfect for a long walk with cool weather and clouds up on the mountains most of the day. When I finally arrived I was tired, but happy for another good day. Under 150km left, just 6 days till I get to Santiago. Here are some sights of the day. Buen Camino!
