A Detour

Five more days until I reach Santiago. As the journey begins to winds down, I continue to meet new people. Today I walked with an Israeli psychologist and we talked about the Christian faith, how worship is constructed in churches and synagogues, and what life is like in Israel right now. Lots of thoughts and insights - more than I can share in this post. I decided to take a different route to Sarria based on a recommendation of my friend and in-law, Chris Thomas. It meant a longer walk but a more interesting day. I toured the monastery at Samos and it was really marvelous. A lot I didn’t understand because the tour was in Spanish, but the architecture and art is magnificent. By the way, I think I also took a longer, but prettier walk. Here are some pics from today.
