Day 2 - Bells Ring Again

The church bells rang when I started again today; it was 8am. Today was an easier walk through the Arga Valley along the Arga River. The brochure said it was one of the most beautiful stretches on the Pilgrim Route and the weather was exceptional for the journey. I couldn’t help but hum and sing quietly, “All creatures of our God and King.” Another theme I thought about was “the modern meeting the ancient.” Never was this so true as we walked alongside N-135. As we walked you heard the birds chirps, the rushing of the river, the click-clack of walking poles, and the sounds of cars and trucks passing. Such an interesting cacophony of sound. I walked part of the day with two men from Denmark and a woman from Switzerland. So glad they all speak English. The Camino journey is part of their “bucket list.” Once again I pasted folks in the morning and was passed in the afternoon. After I arrived in Pamplona, I toured the Cathedral of Pamplona. Built over 900 years ago, it sits on top of the city. I found my first blister this afternoon. Doesn’t hurt, but I am now in doctor mode. It was beautiful today and tomorrow the temperature drops and we will walk in rain. Buen Camino
